How many beads will this actually take?
Three questions turn up before every piece. Will that teal hold out. How much thread to cut. Will it fit the wrist it is meant for. Keep the answers on the bench and your hands can stay on the work.
Pull it out and watch the beads arrive
Drag the thread to the length you want. Beads slide on in your own colour order, and the counts underneath keep up — including the grams, the tubes and the thread to cut with tails included.
On the shelf
Each chart sets aside what it still needs, so a tube about to run dry speaks up rows before you get there.
Draw it the way you weave it
Paint with a fingertip, flip on mirror mode and the other half builds itself. The legend counts every colour as you go, and when it is time to weave, the chart reads each row aloud and waits for the needle.

Legend
A finished chart goes out as a clean picture with this list attached, so whoever you send it to has the colours as well as the motif.
Measure once, cut right
Wrist to cut length
Tape around the wrist, pick how it should sit, choose the clasp — and the bench hands back the wire to cut and the findings to gather.
—
—
Necklace silhouette
Pull the pendant down and watch the piece walk from choker to rope.

Ring mandrel
Slide a ring along the cone until it sits, or lay one on the glass and open the circle out to its inner edge.
—
Both scales and the inner diameter, side by side.
Your designs stay your designs
Nothing is collected and nothing is sent. There is no account, no pattern gallery, no shop attached and no server behind any of this. Charts, stash, measurements and every figure worked out from them live on the device in front of you, which is why the bench keeps counting with the phone in flight mode.
You are never signed up
The bench opens straight onto an empty loom. No registration, no username, no password, and no question about your name, your email address, your age or where you are. Device and advertising identifiers go unread.
A chart is a piece of design work
The motifs you draw are your own work, and people sell patterns like these. Nothing you chart is uploaded, published, indexed, or added to anybody's library. There is no community feed to be swept into, no gallery that shows off what users are making, and no copy of a design on any machine but yours.
When a pattern leaves, it leaves because you exported it and chose where to send it.
Where the bench keeps things
Charts, colour lists, stash quantities, project lengths, stitch settings, finished pieces and the record of rows you have woven are written into the app's own storage on your device.
No duplicate exists elsewhere. Nobody at this end could look at your stash or your patterns, lose them, or produce them if asked.
Measurements of a body
A wrist, a finger, a neck — those are measurements of a person, and often not of you, since most of us bead for friends and family. They are treated as what they are: written down on your device, never transmitted, and gone the moment you delete the piece they belong to. If you record them under somebody's name, that name stays on your phone with them.
The shopping list is a list, not an order
When the bench says four tubes of teal, it is telling you, not a shop. No supplier is contacted, no basket is filled anywhere, no price is fetched and there are no affiliate links hidden in any of it. What you buy and who you buy it from is nobody's business here.
Sharing a chart as a picture
Exporting draws the image on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet at the moment you ask. That picture carries the motif and the full colour list, so sending it is a decision about who gets to weave it. Once it has gone, it lives under the rules of whatever received it.
No borrowed code
No analytics package, advertising network, crash reporter or tracking beacon is built in. Nothing counts how often you open the app, how long you weave or what colours you favour.
Younger beaders
Loom bands and seed beads bring in plenty of hands under thirteen. Since nothing leaves any device, nothing leaves theirs, and there is no record on our side for COPPA, the UK Children's code or comparable rules elsewhere to reach.
Clearing the bench
Any chart, colour, project or measurement can be rewritten or thrown out inside the app whenever you like, and nothing vanishes on its own. Deleting Bead by Bead takes every pattern with it for good, and there is nothing kept here to restore from.
Worth knowing: with iCloud or computer backups switched on, your work may sit inside that encrypted backup, which belongs to you and falls under Apple's terms rather than this page.
If this stops being accurate
Should a later version behave in a way not described above, this page is corrected before that version reaches the store, and the date at the top moves with it.

One bench, one inbox
A bug, a stitch the counter handles badly, a bead size missing from the table, a clasp it has not met, or a picture of something you finished. It all arrives in one place.
